Our Staff


Billy started working at Pedal Power in 1995 and he and his wife, Helga, purchased the shop in 2000. His 21 years of mechanic experience is a daily asset, as Billy continues to dive in and get his hands dirty. He is also a Serotta Fit specialist. In addition to being a loving father and prominent figure in the local community, Billy and Helga aspire to empower people, and bring families together through the benefit of cycling.


John has worked at the shop since 2007. He likes to ride mountain bikes when he has time. He is Serotta and Park Tool certified and has had training by Avid, Sram, Campagnolo, Rock Shox and Fox techs. He holds a degree in Telecommunications from the University of Kentucky.


Josh has been with PedalPower since 2010. He started cycling in 2009 when he road his bike to Florida. A recovering roadie who now loves mountain biking and bike polo. He is also a certified Fit Specialist.


Ken is an Idaho transplant. He has been racing bicycles since he was a young pup and has worked in bike shops in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California. He is an Idaho State Champion in BMX ('96) and Road Racing ('11).

Ken used to be fast, now he's fat.


PJ hails from the San Francisco Bay Area having lived in Fremont and Oakland, CA. He has been riding since age 3 and watched his father compete in cycling races growing up. PJ has a passion for bicycle travel and touring. He has embarked on several extended bicycle tours in the Pacific Northwest, up and down the Pacific Coast, the Southwest and Midwest. PJ recently moved to Lexington from Portland, OR where he worked at a hostel and ran their bicycle program. While there he led travelers on bike tours around Portland. Now he hopes to bring his passion to the Bluegrass State.


Evan comes to Pedal Power with an eye for detail. Evan took up cycling 5 years ago on his dad's old bike. Since then a passion was born. Evan is now the Kentucky state single speed cyclocross champion. He is presently sharpening his mechanics skills and is a wealth of knowledge for cyclocross training and racing. Evan dreams of becoming a cyclocross pro athlete and we have no doubt with his tenacious attitude and passion, this dream will become a reality.


Olivia hails from Cleveland and is a frustrated Browns fan. She speaks German and is currently a student at UK. She is a "no car" girl and loves bikes!


Van is a native of Lexington and is presently an undergraduate student at the University of Kentucky pursuing military service and later a career in medicine. He has wilderness medical experience and is a licensed wilderness first responder. In addition to medical experience, he is an avid mountain biker. He enjoys tinkering with bikes and talking about them with others.


Born and raised in southeastern Indiana in the hills of the Ohio river valley, Gregg is a woodworker and craftsman with a bachelor’s in video production.  He has lived in a variety of locations and has experience in a variety of disciplines. New to Lexington and to the cycle community, Gregg comes to Pedal Pedal with a passion to learn and grow with the pros.  With a strong need to create and craft, Gregg hopes to take the skills he learns at Pedal Power with him so he can add bike building and maintenance to his quiver of life skills. Gregg loves to carry his bike across creeks. Gregg has a sweet purple Surly Karate Monkey!


Adam recently moved here from Atlanta, GA. He commutes daily and loves to race Cyclocross. He also likes to troll Gregg by buying a sweet purple Surly Karate Monkey.
